Holograms

According to the Collins English Dictionary a "Hologram is  a photographic record produced by illuminating the object with coherent light (as from a laser) and, without using lenses, exposing a film to light reflected from this object and to a direct beam of coherent light. When interference patterns on the film are illuminated by the coherent light a three-dimensional image is produced".

Tupac at Coachella Festival 2012- Image taken from Youtube

In 2008 a hologram was used in a TV transmission in CNN for the first time. Now, the Tupac hologram at the Coachella Festival 2012 in Sydney- Australia was very impressive. During a performance by Snoop Dogg a hologram of Tupac, a very successful rapper killed in 1996, was shown performing with Snoop. Watching this hologram online singing with Snoop Dogg was unbelievable.

Holograms have also been used at other times in show business. For example, in Japan an animated Pop star called Hatsune Miku was represented by a hologram in a concert.
